EXCURSION TIP: STONEWALL KITCHEN CAFE AND COOKING SCHOOL

Stonewall Kitchen Cooking School

Visit to the Stonewall Kitchen Cooking School

Summer is travel season once again, and this year, New England is on the agenda for many lovers of America. One of our own favorite destinations is, of course, Stonewall Kitchen in Maine. As the exclusive importer for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and now Denmark, we frequently visit to explore their production and range.

As you drive along the picturesque Route 1 from Boston heading north, you'll arrive shortly after crossing the state border into Maine at the small town of York. Right at the town's entrance, you'll find the bustling Stonewall Kitchen headquarters, complete with a beautifully appointed store for browsing (stocked with unique decorative items and fantastic kitchen accessories) and a popular New England cafe. There are plenty of Stonewall Kitchen specialties to sample and delicious offerings on the menu.

For those with a bit more time, you can book one of the many cooking classes in the cooking school, which is often fully booked during the summer. Themes like "Fresh off the Grill" or "Fun with Lobster" showcase two important culinary trends. The classes for the upcoming weeks can be viewed and booked online. As an added bonus, you can peek through a window into the production area. Many diligent hands ensure that Stonewall Kitchen's beloved jams and barbecue sauces are properly labeled and packaged. A visit is definitely worthwhile!
