American brown sugar is a combination of cane sugar with rich molasses (a thick syrup created through refining cane sugar). It is slightly sticky and has a richer, more caramel taste to it than regular white cane sugar. It is a common baking ingredient in many American recipes and cannot be replaced with typical European "brown sugars". American Heritage carries both light and dark brown sugar, brown sugars that are characterized only by how much molasses is mixed in.
Our brown sugars come from Fairtrade practices and are perfect for baking, drinks such as tea and coffee, or to sweeten any dishes or sauces.
